Documentary storytelling

At Studio 91, we believe authentic stories have the power to change minds and inspire action. Between us we’ve spent over 12 years in-house at the BBC, learning to produce journalistic and research-driven video content. We use that experience to produce mini-documentary films for charities, public sector bodies and purpose-driven brands.

We love putting human stories at the centre of all the content we produce. We’re not just about pretty shots (although we’re quite good at that too). Our USP is an ability to deliver content that builds on your brand and tone of voice, helping our clients to show the best version of themselves. Our approach builds deep, human connections with your audience, showcasing your impact in a way that is both honest and compelling.

Our interview-led storytelling for Manchester High School for Girls helped them raise £8,000 for their bursary fund in a single day.

The team tap directly into the emotions behind the shot and use these to land your message in a way that packs a punch every time.

Our approach to documentary filmmaking

We are professionally curious. We take the time to understand your organisation, the people you serve, and the change you create. Once we truly understand your story, we can help you tell it in the most effective way possible.

Who is this for?

Our ongoing work with Tyler Grange, a UK-wide landscape consultancy, showcases their commitment to caring for people and the planet.

Our documentary storytelling service is ideal for:

  • Charities and non-profits wanting to produce powerful impact stories and fundraising films.
  • Purpose-driven businesses looking to build their brand identity through authentic content.
  • Public sector organisations needing to communicate complex issues through relatable human stories.
  • Marketing agencies seeking a specialist production partner to produce high-quality story-led content for their clients.

Ben and the team just produced a stunning video for our charity. Ben is great to work with and has a knack for making people feel comfortable when they are in front of a camera, even if they have little experience. They work with great attention to detail and make every effort to understand the ethos and purpose of what you are trying to communicate.
